  • Description

Recombinant Human Vitamin D3 Receptor (VDR) Fragment (residues 223-427) – a high-quality, stable protein fragment ideal for structural studies, biochemical assays, and investigating vitamin D3 signaling pathways.

The Vitamin D3 receptor (VDR) is a nuclear receptor that binds calcitriol, the active form of vitamin D3, and mediates its genomic actions in cells. Upon ligand binding, VDR translocates to the nucleus, heterodimerizes with the retinoid X receptor (RXR), and regulates the transcription of target genes involved in calcium homeostasis and other physiological processes. VDR also functions as a receptor for the secondary bile acid lithocholic acid and its metabolites. The full-length protein localizes primarily to the nucleus, with some presence in the cytoplasm, and its nuclear import can occur through both ligand-dependent and ligand-independent mechanisms. This recombinant fragment (residues 223-427) represents a stable, soluble region selected for structural and functional analyses.
