  • Description

This recombinant protein is a fragment of Sentrin-specific protease 2 (SENP2), encompassing residues 367-589 from Homo sapiens. It represents a stable, soluble unit ideal for investigating SUMO pathway dynamics, including SUMO maturation and deconjugation, in structural and biochemical studies.

Sentrin-specific protease 2 (SENP2) is a crucial enzyme in the SUMO pathway, performing two essential functions: it processes SUMO propeptides (SUMO1, SUMO2, and SUMO3) into their mature forms and deconjugates SUMO from target proteins, regulating processes such as Wnt signaling, adipogenesis via CEBPB stabilization, and the cGAS-STING pathway during viral infection. Located primarily in the nucleus, particularly at the nuclear pore complex, and shuttling between the nucleus and cytoplasm, SENP2 plays a dynamic role in cellular regulation and protein stability.
