  • Description

Recombinant Human RGS1 (Regulator of G-protein signaling 1) fragment (amino acids 49-209) is a high-purity protein designed for studying G protein-coupled receptor signaling regulation. This fragment fully encompasses the critical RGS domain, making it an ideal tool for investigating GTPase activity modulation and signal transduction mechanisms in cellular pathways.

Regulator of G-protein signaling 1 (RGS1) is a key regulatory protein in Homo sapiens that controls G protein-coupled receptor signaling cascades, including those downstream of N-formylpeptide chemoattractant receptors and leukotriene receptors. It functions by increasing the GTPase activity of G protein alpha subunits, driving them into their inactive GDP-bound form to inhibit signal transduction. RGS1 has been shown to inhibit B cell chemotaxis toward CXCL12 and plays important roles in immune cell regulation. The protein is primarily located at the cell membrane as a peripheral membrane protein on the cytoplasmic side, with additional presence in the cytosol, positioning it strategically for modulating membrane receptor signaling events.
