  • Description

Recombinant Human PCGF6 (Polycomb group RING finger protein 6) fragment (residues 87-350) is a high-purity protein designed for structural and biochemical studies. This 264-amino acid fragment offers a stable and soluble unit ideal for investigating the transcriptional repressor functions and Polycomb group complex interactions of PCGF6.

PCGF6 (Polycomb group RING finger protein 6) is a transcriptional repressor that plays a critical role in maintaining gene silencing through chromatin remodeling. As a component of the Polycomb repressive complex 1 (PRC1)-like complex, it regulates RNF2 ubiquitin ligase activity and mediates monoubiquitination of histone H2A at lysine 119, leading to heritable changes in chromatin expressibility. Additionally, PCGF6 may modulate histone H3K4Me3 levels by activating the KDM5D histone demethylase. The protein is localized to the nucleus, where it contributes to developmental gene regulation, including Hox gene repression. This recombinant fragment provides a valuable tool for dissecting these mechanisms without interference from full-length protein instability.
