Product Information

  • Product Name
    Human MMP-9/MMP9 recombinant protein
  • Documents
  • Description
May play an essential role in local proteolysis of the extracellular matrix and in leukocyte migration. Could play a role in bone osteoclastic resorption. Cleaves KiSS1 at a Gly-|-Leu bond. Cleaves type IV and type V collagen into large C-terminal three quarter fragments and shorter N-terminal one quarter fragments. Degrades fibronectin but not laminin or Pz-peptide.
  • Protein name
    Matrix metalloproteinase-9
  • Protein short names
    RP23-61O3.10; PRO-MMP-9; MANDP2; GELB; AW743869; MMP9; B/MMP9; CLG4B; MMP-9
  • Uniprot ID
    P14780
  • Gene Name
    MMP9; CLG4B
  • Source/Expression Host
    Human Cells
  • Expression Plasmid/cDNA
A DNA sequence encoding the human MMP9 zymogen (NP_004985.2) (Met 1-Asp 707) was expressed.
  • Protein Species
    Human
  • Molecular weight
The recombinant human MMP9 consisting of 688 amino acids has a predicted molecular mass of 76.3 kDa. The apparent molecular mass of rh MMP9 is approximately 80-95 kDa in SDS-PAGE due to glycosylation.
  • Purity
    > 94 % as determined by SDS-PAGE
  • Activity
Measured by its ability to cleave the fluorogenic peptide substrate, Mca-PLGL-Dpa-AR-NH2, (AnaSpec, Cat#27076). The specific activity is >600 pmoles/min/μg.
  • Validations

    Human MMP-9 / CLG4B Protein SDS-PAGE

    Human MMP-9 / CLG4B Protein SDS-PAGE
