  • Description

Recombinant Human Lin-7A (1-233) is a high-purity protein fragment encompassing the full-length sequence of Protein lin-7 homolog A, including its critical L27 and PDZ domains. This product is an essential tool for investigating the role of Lin-7A in establishing cellular polarity, receptor localization, and synaptic function, offering researchers a targeted reagent for domain-specific studies.

Protein lin-7 homolog A (Lin-7A) is a key scaffolding protein in Homo sapiens that plays a fundamental role in establishing and maintaining the asymmetric distribution of channels and receptors at the plasma membrane of polarized cells. It forms membrane-associated multiprotein complexes, such as those with CASK and APBA1, which regulate the delivery and recycling of proteins to specific membrane domains. Notably, Lin-7A is involved in transporting vesicles containing NMDA receptor subunit NR2B via interaction with KIF17, ensuring proper localization to neuronal postsynaptic densities. It also facilitates the basolateral membrane targeting of Kir2 channels, GABA transporters, and ERBB family receptors in epithelial cells. Subcellularly, Lin-7A is localized to the cell membrane, basolateral membrane, postsynaptic density, and tight junctions, primarily as a peripheral membrane protein, highlighting its importance in cell adhesion, synaptic organization, and polarization processes.
