Description
Recombinant Human Insulin Receptor Substrate 4 (IRS-4) Fragment (aa 77-336) is a high-purity protein designed for studying the PH and IRS-type PTB domains. This 260-amino acid fragment serves as an essential tool for investigating insulin, IGF1, and growth factor receptor signaling pathways, enabling targeted research into cellular proliferation, differentiation, and metabolic regulation.
Insulin Receptor Substrate 4 (IRS-4) is a 160 kDa phosphotyrosine protein that acts as a critical interface between tyrosine kinase receptors—such as insulin receptor, IGF1R, and FGFR1—and intracellular signaling molecules containing SH2 domains. It plays a pivotal role in mitogenic signaling, promoting AKT1 activation and BAD phosphorylation during insulin stimulation, and is involved in hepatoblastoma cell proliferation/differentiation via EPHB2 activation upon IGF1 stimulation. IRS-4 also contributes to growth, reproduction, and glucose homeostasis, and may function as a negative regulator of IGF1 signaling by suppressing IRS1 and IRS2. Located at the cell membrane as a peripheral membrane protein on the cytoplasmic side, IRS-4 facilitates nonreceptor tyrosine kinase signaling in myoblasts and enhances insulin-stimulated MAPK activity through interaction with GRB2.
