  • Description

Recombinant Human Bridging Integrator 2 (BIN2) Fragment (aa 1-245) is a high-purity protein designed for studying cell motility, membrane dynamics, and cytoskeletal interactions. This fragment fully encompasses the BAR domain, making it an ideal tool for investigating domain-specific functions in cellular processes such as migration and podosome formation.

Bridging Integrator 2 (BIN2), also known as Breast cancer-associated protein 1, is a human protein that promotes cell motility and migration through interactions with the cell membrane and podosome proteins. It modulates membrane curvature, mediates membrane tubulation, and plays a critical role in podosome formation while inhibiting phagocytosis. BIN2 localizes to the cytoplasm, cell cortex, and specific cellular projections including podosome membranes and phagocytic cups, where it associates with phosphoinositide-enriched membranes. It is particularly detected at the actin-rich leading edge of migrating cells and within podosome structures, highlighting its importance in cytoskeletal organization and cellular movement processes.
