Description
Recombinant Human Palmitoyltransferase ZDHHC9 (EC 2.3.1.225) Fragment (aa 85-183) is a high-purity, soluble protein fragment engineered for structural and biochemical studies. This 99-amino acid fragment offers a stable and functional unit ideal for investigating the mechanisms of protein palmitoylation and its roles in signaling, immunity, and disease.
The full-length ZDHHC9 protein is a palmitoyltransferase that catalyzes the addition of palmitate to key substrates such as ADRB2, HRAS, NRAS, CGAS, and GSDMD, regulating processes including G protein-coupled receptor signaling, innate immune activation, and pyroptosis. It localizes to the endoplasmic reticulum and Golgi apparatus membranes as a multi-pass membrane protein. Notably, ZDHHC9, in complex with GOLGA7, specifically palmitoylates HRAS and NRAS, and it also plays a role in viral infection by palmitoylating the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein to facilitate viral biogenesis and fusion. This fragment provides a valuable tool for dissecting these critical enzymatic activities without the challenges of full-length membrane protein expression.
