VPM peptide, GCRDVPMSMRGGDRCG, a cysteine-contained biodegradable matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) crosslinker peptide is an enzyme cleavable sequence and can be incorporated into hydrogel backbones to give synthetic hydrogels the capacity to be proteolytically degraded by cell-secreted enzymes. The peptide can be used to study cell migration and matrix remodeling.
