  • Description

Urocortin 1 is a neuropeptide belonging to the corticotropin-releasing factor (CRF) family. It is a 40-amino acid peptide that shares high sequence similarity with fish urotensin I and mammalian urocortin 1. In vertebrates, urocortin 1 binds to and activates both CRF1 and CRF2 receptors, typically exhibiting higher affinity for the CRF2 receptor subtype. This peptide is expressed in multiple tissues including the brain, pituitary, heart, and kidney.

Phylogenetic analyses indicate that the urocortin 1 gene lineage arose before the divergence of bony fishes and tetrapods, demonstrating deep evolutionary conservation. The peptide's functional interactions with CRF receptors and its tissue distribution pattern are conserved across vertebrate species, highlighting its fundamental role in neuroendocrine signaling pathways.

  • Storage Guidelines

  • About TFA salt

Trifluoroacetic acid (TFA) is a common counterion from the purification process using High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC). The presence of TFA can affect the peptide's net weight, appearance, and solubility.

Impact on Net Weight: The TFA salt contributes to the total mass of the product. In most cases, the peptide content constitutes >80% of the total weight, with TFA accounting for the remainder.

Solubility: TFA salts generally enhance the solubility of peptides in aqueous solutions.

In Biological Assays: For most standard in vitro assays, the residual TFA levels do not cause interference. However, for highly sensitive cellular or biochemical studies, please be aware of its presence.
