Description
The TYB10 30-44 peptide is a fragment derived from the thymosin beta-10 precursor. This peptide, with the amino acid sequence PTKETIEQEKRSEIS, corresponds to residues 30-44 of the full-length thymosin beta-10 protein. In a study examining neuropeptide perturbations in the neonatal rat striatum following exposure to the neurotoxin BMAA, the relative level of the TYB10 30-44 peptide was found to be significantly lower in female rat pups compared to male controls. This indicates a baseline sex-dependent difference in the expression of this specific peptide during the neonatal developmental period. The biological function of this particular peptide fragment is not yet fully characterized, but it originates from a precursor involved in cytoskeletal organization and cellular processes.

About TFA salt
Trifluoroacetic acid (TFA) is a common counterion from the purification process using High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC). The presence of TFA can affect the peptide's net weight, appearance, and solubility.
Impact on Net Weight: The TFA salt contributes to the total mass of the product. In most cases, the peptide content constitutes >80% of the total weight, with TFA accounting for the remainder.
Solubility: TFA salts generally enhance the solubility of peptides in aqueous solutions.
In Biological Assays: For most standard in vitro assays, the residual TFA levels do not cause interference. However, for highly sensitive cellular or biochemical studies, please be aware of its presence.
