Description
The peptide Suc-Ala-Ala-Pro-Phe-AMC (Suc-AAPF-AMC) is a fluorogenic substrate commonly used in assays to measure the activity of α-chymotrypsin. The Km for Suc-AAPF-AMC with α-chymotrypsin was determined to be 15 μM, and the kcat was 1.5 s⁻¹. These values are comparable to those of other chymotrypsin substrates and were used as a reference to evaluate the performance of the newly synthesized peptide substrate in the ICP-MS assay.
