The inhibitory TRPV6-binding peptides SOR-C13 and SOR-C27 are derived from of the C-terminus of soricidin (accession number P0C2P6), a paralytic peptide from saliva of Northern Short-tailed shrew Blarina brevicauda. SOR-C13 and SOR-C27 bind to and inhibit calcium influx through TRPV6 expressed in HEK-293 cells with EC50 values of 14 nM and 65 nM respectively.

Trifluoroacetic acid (TFA) is a common counterion from the purification process using High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC). The presence of TFA can affect the peptide's net weight, appearance, and solubility.
