Description
SlRGF10 is the primary cold-responsive paralog of SlRGF9 in tomato anthers, exhibiting stronger cold-induced transcriptional upregulation than SlRGF9. After tyrosine sulfation modification, mature SlRGF10 serves as the core functional ligand for the SlRGFR6-SlSERK receptor complex to initiate the conserved cold-resistance signaling cascade in developing anthers. It controls timely tapetal PCD to guarantee nutrient and sporopollenin supply for microspores against cold damage. Moderate endogenous upregulation of SlRGF10 via native promoter significantly restores up to 52% of cold-caused yield reduction in field-grown tomato, whereas excessive constitutive overexpression causes spontaneous pollen sterility and growth retardation at ambient temperature. Wild-type tomato accumulates minimal endogenous SlRGF10 under normal conditions, while 35S-driven overexpression lines produce abundant non-sulfated and sulfated SlRGF10 detectable via TOF-MS. Similar to SlRGF9, isolated sulfated SlRGF10 peptide independently activates the complete downstream anti-chilling pathway when exogenously supplemented to slrgf9 slrgf10 double mutant plants.

About TFA salt
Trifluoroacetic acid (TFA) is a common counterion from the purification process using High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC). The presence of TFA can affect the peptide's net weight, appearance, and solubility.
Impact on Net Weight: The TFA salt contributes to the total mass of the product. In most cases, the peptide content constitutes >80% of the total weight, with TFA accounting for the remainder.
Solubility: TFA salts generally enhance the solubility of peptides in aqueous solutions.
In Biological Assays: For most standard in vitro assays, the residual TFA levels do not cause interference. However, for highly sensitive cellular or biochemical studies, please be aware of its presence.
