    Salcatonin, or salmon calcitonin, is a synthetic 32-amino acid peptide with the same sequence as calcitonin produced by salmon. In salmon and other fish, calcitonin is secreted by the ultimobranchial gland, while in humans, it is synthesized and secreted from the parafollicular cells of the thyroid gland.
