  • Description

This product is a high-quality recombinant protein fragment of human Prostasin (PRSS8), encompassing amino acids 35-307. It includes the complete Peptidase S1 domain, making it an ideal tool for investigating the protease activity and channel-activating functions of this key serine protease in controlled experimental settings.

Prostasin (PRSS8) is a trypsin-like serine protease with specificity for poly-basic substrates, known to stimulate epithelial sodium channel (ENaC) activity through proteolytic cleavage of the gamma subunits. The full-length protein exists in multiple forms: membrane-bound as a single-pass membrane protein, and cleaved forms (light and heavy chains) that are secreted into extracellular spaces such as seminal fluid. This strategic localization and processing enable Prostasin to function in both membrane-associated signaling and extracellular proteolytic pathways.
