Description
PAM-5 is a potent antibacterial peptide that was developed through phage display selection and computer-assisted modification. It has enhanced antibacterial features, as demonstrated by its ability to cause membrane disruption and permeabilization of bacteria, bind bacterial DNA, and kill the bacteria rapidly in 10 minutes based on time-kill assay results. PAM-5 also exhibits stability in human plasma via ex vivo assays while being non-cytotoxic towards Vero cells at all concentrations tested for the antibacterial assays.
