  • Description
OsRGF10 is the dominant cold-resistant functional ortholog of tomato SlRGF10 in rice genome, with stronger cold-triggered expression in booting-stage anthers compared with OsRGF8. Post-translational tyrosine sulfation enables mature OsRGF10 to bind rice LRR-RLK RGFR-SERK co-receptor complex and activate downstream CNGC-mediated Ca²⁺ influx, which stabilizes tapetal developmental progress and prevents cold-mediated pollen degeneration. Transgenic rice with mild native-promoter-driven OsRGF10 overexpression achieves prominent cold tolerance in multi-site field trials: it improves seed-set percentage by 10%–25% under natural chilling stress and recovers approximately 18.3% of cold-induced grain yield loss. Constitutive high-level overexpression of OsRGF10 impairs normal rice tillering and fertility at optimal growth temperature. Either purified sulfated OsRGF10 or OsRGF8 can individually recover the cold-sensitive fertility defect of the osrgf8 osrgf10 double mutant rice.

  • About TFA salt

Trifluoroacetic acid (TFA) is a common counterion from the purification process using High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC). The presence of TFA can affect the peptide's net weight, appearance, and solubility.

Impact on Net Weight: The TFA salt contributes to the total mass of the product. In most cases, the peptide content constitutes >80% of the total weight, with TFA accounting for the remainder.

Solubility: TFA salts generally enhance the solubility of peptides in aqueous solutions.

In Biological Assays: For most standard in vitro assays, the residual TFA levels do not cause interference. However, for highly sensitive cellular or biochemical studies, please be aware of its presence.
