Description
This recombinant protein product features a stable 158-amino acid fragment (residues 643-800) of human Neuropilin-2 (NRP2), a key receptor involved in vascular development and neuronal guidance. The fragment has been computationally optimized for structural stability and solubility, making it ideal for biochemical and structural studies.
Neuropilin-2 (NRP2) functions as a high-affinity receptor for semaphorins 3C and 3F, VEGF-165 and VEGF-145 isoforms of vascular endothelial growth factor, and the PLGF-2 isoform of placental growth factor. The full-length protein is a single-pass type I membrane protein localized to the cell membrane, with some isoforms being secreted. Additionally, Neuropilin-2 serves as a receptor for human cytomegalovirus pentamer-dependent entry in epithelial and endothelial cells, highlighting its significance in both normal physiological processes and viral pathogenesis.
