  • Description

Recombinant Human Lin-7B (1-207) is a high-purity protein fragment encompassing the full L27 and PDZ domains of Protein lin-7 homolog B. This fragment serves as an essential tool for investigating the role of Lin-7B in cellular polarization, receptor trafficking, and synaptic organization, making it ideal for studies on membrane protein complexes and neuronal signaling pathways.

Lin-7B is a key scaffolding protein in Homo sapiens that establishes and maintains asymmetric distribution of channels and receptors at the plasma membrane in polarized cells. It forms membrane-associated multiprotein complexes with partners like CASK and APBA1, regulating the delivery and recycling of proteins to specific membrane domains. Notably, Lin-7B facilitates the transport of vesicles containing NMDA receptor subunit NR2B via interaction with KIF17, contributes to the localization of GRIN2B at postsynaptic densities, and ensures proper basolateral membrane targeting of Kir2 channels, GABA transporters, and ERBB family receptors in epithelial cells. It is primarily localized to the basolateral membrane in renal epithelial cells, as well as to cell junctions, postsynaptic densities, and tight junctions, functioning as a peripheral membrane protein critical for synaptic vesicle positioning and cell adhesion coupling.
