  • Description
    Peptide LCI is an adhesion-promoting peptide used in the Matter-tag-based enzyme immobilization platform. It contains several basic and acidic amino acids such as Asp and Arg, which are polar in nature and may be involved in interaction with various materials including polymers, metals, and silicon-based materials. LCI was identified as a universal adhesion promoter and was able to immobilize both enzymes (phytase and cellulase) on all investigated materials. Studies suggest that the adsorption behavior of a peptide can be largely electrostatic, and the polar residues in LCI may contribute to the adsorption energy on stainless steel and gold surfaces.
