KSLW, a synthetic antimicrobial peptide, was demonstrated to be chemotactic for neutrophils in micromolar amounts and has a broad spectrum of antimicrobial activity against Gram (+) and Gram (-) bacteria, fungi, and viruses. It is a decapeptide composed of the amino acid sequence KKVVFWVKFK-NH2. KSLW enhances F-actin polymerization in neutrophils and can inhibit oxygen radical production in PMA- and LPS-stimulated neutrophils, and thus to enhance neutrophil chemotaxis and function.

Trifluoroacetic acid (TFA) is a common counterion from the purification process using High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC). The presence of TFA can affect the peptide's net weight, appearance, and solubility.

In Biological Assays: For most standard in vitro assays, the residual TFA levels do not cause interference. However, for highly sensitive cellular or biochemical studies, please be aware of its presence.
