  • Description

This product offers a recombinant fragment of Human Interleukin-9 (IL-9), encompassing residues 19-144, designed for robust structural and biochemical studies. IL-9 is a key cytokine involved in immune regulation, and this stable, soluble fragment provides an ideal tool for investigating its functional mechanisms.

Interleukin-9 (IL-9), also known as Cytokine P40 or T-cell growth factor P40, is a multifunctional cytokine primarily secreted by T-helper 2 lymphocytes, mast cells, and NKT cells. It plays a critical role in immune responses, particularly against parasites, and influences intestinal epithelial permeability and adaptive immunity. IL-9 promotes the differentiation of specific T-cell subsets, such as IL-17 producing helper T-cells (TH17), and supports the proliferation and differentiation of mast cells. Its biological effects are mediated through a receptor complex consisting of IL9R and IL2RG subunits, leading to activation of JAK1 and JAK3 kinases and subsequent STAT1, STAT3, and STAT5 signaling pathways. This cytokine is secreted extracellularly, as indicated by its subcellular localization.
