Description
Recombinant Human Interleukin-24 (IL-24) Fragment (aa 52-206) is a high-purity, soluble protein designed for structural and functional studies. This fragment, derived from the multifunctional cytokine IL-24 (also known as MDA-7), retains key functional regions, making it ideal for investigating immune regulation, antiviral responses, and oncogenic pathways in a stable, research-ready format.
Interleukin-24 (IL-24) is a multifunctional cytokine primarily produced by T-cells, playing critical roles in immune response, tissue homeostasis, host defense, and oncogenesis. It exhibits antiviral activity by inducing type I interferon responses during infections such as influenza. IL-24 signals through receptor complexes IL20RA/IL20RB or IL20RB/IL22RA1, activating JAK1-STAT3 and MAPK pathways to promote secretion of pro-inflammatory mediators like IL8 and MMP1. Intracellularly, it supports endoplasmic reticulum homeostasis by modulating the eIF2alpha-CHOP stress pathway and acts as a quality control sensor for proteasome function via PKR/EIF2AK2 activation. The protein is naturally secreted, and the fragment (aa 52-206) encompasses a stable, soluble domain selected for biochemical and structural analyses, enabling focused studies on IL-24's mechanisms without full-length complexity.
