Description
Recombinant Human FNDC5 (Irisin Precursor) Fragment (aa 56-200) is a high-purity protein designed for studying the Fibronectin type-III domain. This fragment is ideal for investigating the molecular mechanisms of exercise-induced metabolic benefits, including adipose tissue browning and UCP1 expression regulation.
Fibronectin type III domain-containing protein 5 (FNDC5) is cleaved to produce Irisin, a myokine that mediates the beneficial effects of muscular exercise. Irisin promotes the browning of white adipose tissue by upregulating UCP1 expression, primarily through the PPARA nuclear receptor pathway. The full-length protein localizes to the cell membrane and peroxisome membrane as a single-pass membrane protein, while the cleaved Irisin form is secreted into circulation and detectable in plasma following endurance exercise. This recombinant fragment encompasses the functional Fibronectin type-III domain (aa 84-175), enabling targeted research into domain-specific functions.
