    All three peptides encoded by the flp-20 gene (AMMRFa, AVFRMa, SVFRLa) were able to activate FRPR-3 receptor, the FMRFamide-like peptide GPCR FRPR-3, with EC50 values in the low nanomolar range. AMMRFa refers to AMMRF-NH2(C28H47N9O5S2, MW: 653.86); AVFRMa = AVFRM-NH2(C28H47N9O5S, MW: 621.79); SVFRLa = SVFRL-NH2(C29H49N9O6, MW: 619.75). These FLP-20 peptides function as an afferent arousal signal that conveys mechanosensory information to central neurons that modulate arousal and other behavioral states.

    Trifluoroacetic acid (TFA) is a strong acid, which is commonly used to cleave synthesized peptides from solid-phase resins and is also used to improve HPLC performance in the peptide purification step.
