Description
Recombinant HLA-DRB1 (30-227) Fragment: A high-purity, functional protein fragment encompassing the Ig-like C1-type domain (residues 126-214) of the HLA class II histocompatibility antigen DRB1 beta chain. This product is ideal for studying antigen presentation, T-cell receptor interactions, and immune response mechanisms in human immunology research.
The full-length HLA-DRB1 protein is a critical component of the major histocompatibility complex class II (MHCII) that forms heterodimers with HLA-DRA alpha chains to present antigenic peptides on professional antigen-presenting cells. It displays extracellular peptides (typically 10-30 amino acids) derived from pathogens, self-proteins, or tumor antigens to CD4-positive T cells, initiating adaptive immune responses. The protein localizes to cell membranes, endoplasmic reticulum, lysosomes, late endosomes, and autolysosomes, trafficking through endocytic pathways to load and present peptides. Different HLA-DRB1 alleles present distinct immunodominant epitopes from pathogens including HIV-1, influenza, anthrax, and human rhinovirus, as well as self-antigens and tumor neoantigens, playing essential roles in infectious immunity, autoimmune regulation, and cancer immunosurveillance.
