    CXCL8 (54-72), also known as peptide 1, is a C-terminal CXCL8 peptide fragment corresponding to the core CXCL8 - glycosaminoglycan (GAG) binding region. CXCL8 (54-72) binds to GAG during neutrophil recruitment to reduce neutrophil adhesion and migration during the inflammatory response though modulation of chemokine-GAG binding.
