  • Description

Recombinant Human APLP1 Fragment (aa 293-487) - A high-purity protein fragment encompassing the complete E2 functional domain of Amyloid beta precursor like protein 1, designed for studying domain-specific functions in neuronal signaling and apoptosis regulation.

Amyloid beta precursor like protein 1 (APLP1) is a type I transmembrane protein that plays important roles in postsynaptic function and neuronal development. The full-length protein interacts with cellular G-protein signaling pathways and regulates neurite outgrowth through binding to extracellular matrix components such as heparin and collagen I. Through its C-terminal processing, APLP1 generates functional fragments including ALID1, which activates transcription through APBB1 binding, and the gamma-CTF peptide C30, a potent enhancer of neuronal apoptosis. The protein undergoes C-terminal processing in the Golgi complex, with the C30 fragment localizing to the cytoplasm. The recombinant fragment (aa 293-487) specifically contains the E2 domain, making it valuable for investigating the structural and functional properties of this critical region in APLP1-mediated cellular processes.
