    Acein-2 is a tripeptide with the sequence Leu-Ile-Tyr, identified as a novel angiotensin-I-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitory peptide derived from a tryptic hydrolysate of human plasma. It corresponds to fragment (518-520) of human K2-macroglobulin. The synthetic tripeptide exhibits potent dose-dependent ACE inhibition, with an IC50 value of 0.82 μmol/L. Kinetic analysis using Lineweaver-Burk plots indicates that Acein-2 acts as a non-competitive inhibitor of ACE.
