    The pH-dependent antimicrobial activity of α-helical coiled coil peptides is caused by protonation/deprotonation of histidine residues under different pH environments, leading to LPS and membrane binding ability. 3IH3 is active against Gram-negative bacteria and C. albicans, C. tropicalis, and C. parapsilosis at pH 6.0, with no cytotoxicity against HEK293T cells.
