Product Information

  • Product Name
Rat CD10/Neprilysin (His Tag) recombinant protein
  • Documents
  • Description
Thermolysin-like specificity, but is almost confined on acting on polypeptides of up to 30 amino acids. Biologically important in the destruction of opioid peptides such as Met- and Leu-enkephalins by cleavage of a Gly-Phe bond. Able to cleave angiotensin-1, angiotensin-2 and angiotensin 1-9. Displays UV-inducible elastase activity toward skin preelastic and elastic fibers (By similarity). Involved in the degradation of atrial natriuretic factor (ANF) (PubMed:2966343).
  • Protein name
    Neprilysin
  • Protein short names
    CALLA; C85356; DKFZP686O16152; MGC126707; NEP; 6030454K05RIK; NEUTRAL ENDOPEPTIDASE; CD10; MME; MGC126681; SFE; NEPRILYSIN
  • Uniprot ID
    P07861
  • Gene Name
    Mme
  • Source/Expression Host
    Human Cells
  • Expression Plasmid/cDNA
A DNA sequence encoding the rat MME (P07861) (Tyr52-Trp750) was expressed with a polyhistidine tag at the N-terminus.
  • Protein Species
    Rat
  • Molecular weight
The recombinant rat MME comprises 719 amino acids and has a predicted molecular mass of 82.5 kDa. The apparent molecular mass of the protein is approximately 93 kDa in SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions.
