Product Information

  • Product Name
Rat IL-1 beta (mature form) recombinant protein
  • Documents
  • Description
Produced by activated macrophages, IL-1 stimulates thymocyte proliferation by inducing IL-2 release, B-cell maturation and proliferation, and fibroblast growth factor activity. IL-1 proteins are involved in the inflammatory response, being identified as endogenous pyrogens, and are reported to stimulate the release of prostaglandin and collagenase from synovial cells.
  • Protein name
    Interleukin-1 beta
  • Protein short names
    IL1F2; IL-1; IL-1 BETA; IL-1B; IL1-BETA; IL1B; IL-1BETA
  • Uniprot ID
    Q63264
  • Gene Name
    Il1b
  • Source/Expression Host
    E. coli
  • Expression Plasmid/cDNA
A DNA sequence encoding the mature form of rat IL1B (Q63264-1) (Val 117-Ser 268) was expressed and purified.
  • Protein Species
    Rat
  • Molecular weight
The mature form of recombinant rat IL1B comprises 153 amino acids and predicts a molecular mass of 17.4 kDa. The apparent molecular mass of the protein is approximately 35 kDa in SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions.
  • Purity
    > 98 % as determined by SDS-PAGE
  • Activity
Measured in a cell proliferation assay using D10.G4.1 mouse helper T cells.
The ED50 for this effect is typically 30-120 pg/mL.
  • Validations

    Rat IL-1 beta / IL1B Protein (mature form) SDS-PAGE

    Rat IL-1 beta / IL1B Protein (mature form) SDS-PAGE
