SSPE (20×, pH 7.4) Preparation and Recipe

SSPE (saline sodium phosphate EDTA) is used in hybridization and bacterial screening.

To prepare L  SSPE (20×, pH 7.4)

Table 1. Recipe

1. Prepare 0.8 L of distilled water in a suitable container.
2. Add 175.32 g of Sodium chloride to the solution.
3. Add 27.598 g of Sodium dihydrogen phosphate monohydrate to the solution.
4. Add 5.844 g of EDTA (ethylenediamine tetraacetic acid) free acid to the solution.
5. Adjust the pH to 7.4.
6. Add distilled water until the volume is 1 L.
7. Store at room temperature.
