  • Background
    MDM2 belongs to the MDM2/MDM4 family. It inhibits TP53/p53- and TP73/p73-mediated cell cycle arrest and apoptosis by binding its transcriptional activation domain. The mdm2 oncogene encodes a 90 kDa protein that can bind to the p53 tumor suppressor protein and negatively regulate its functions in transcription, cell cycle arrest, and apoptosis. The human mdm2 can be cleaved into a 68 kDa fragment and a 32 kDa fragment.(PMID:9278461).The antibody recognize all the isoforms of MDM2 except isoform Mdm2-E.
