  • Background
Core-binding factor, runt domain, alpha subunit 2, translocated to 2(CBFA2T2) belongs to a family of ubiquitously expressed transcriptional repressors that interact with transcription factors bound to promoters of target genes and with histone deacetylases (HDACs) critical for enforcement of repressor function.CBFA2T2, also named as MTGR1 or EHT, is an 85-kDa phosphoprotein. It can bind AML1-MTG8 fusion protein in acute myeloid leukemia. The binding leads to an enhancement of cell proliferation mediated in a murine myeloid model.
