  • Background
    ASTN2, also named as KIAA0634, has recently been implicated in several common disorders of the nervous system, including attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism and schizophrenia. Astn2 is abundant in migrating cerebellar granule neurons when glial-guided migration is ongoing. ASTN2 forms a complex with ASTN1 that regulates the polarized trafficking of ASTN1 during migration.
